The Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Release Candidate 1 (RC1) message transfer agent (MTA) may unexpectedly stop running with a call stack similar to the following:

RESOLUTION

Upgrade the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer to Release Candidate 2 (RC2).

STATUS

This behavior is resolved in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server RC2. In addition, it is fixed in the post-RC1 build 4209.1 of the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server MTA.
