Windows Media Manager for Palm-Size PC is a tool for copying and converting audio content from your desktop computer to your Pocket PC or storage card. Windows Media Manager for Palm-Size PC you can also copy licensed copies of packaged content onto your mobile device.

Use Windows Media Manager for Palm-Size PC to copy or convert the following types of media files:

• .asf
• .wma
• .mp3
• .wav

Packaged Content

Packaged content is digital music that has been encrypted to prevent unauthorized access. You must have a valid license to play packaged content.

To obtain a license, use Microsoft Windows Media Player on your desktop computer. When Windows Media Player opens a packaged file, it first checks to see if there is a license on your computer that provides the rights required to play the content. If the computer does not have a valid license, the browser opens and navigates to the license registration Web page. After you complete the registration, a license is issued. During the license acquisition, you are informed of the rights for the license.

You must use Windows Media Manager for Palm-Size PC to copy packaged content and its license to your Palm-Size PC or storage card. Windows Media Manager for Palm-Size PC cannot play packaged content without a valid license. To copy packaged content and its license to your device or storage card, the rights included in the license must allow for this type of transfer. To successfully transfer packaged content, your device or storage card may require a hardware serial number.

License rights are entirely dependent upon the content provider and may not support copying to a mobile device.
