Cannot Copy and Paste a Password into a Text Box (257140)

SYMPTOMS

In Internet Explorer 5.5, if you try to copy a password to the clipboard, and then right-click in a text box to paste the password, the password is not pasted into the text box.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, use AutoComplete for passwords (where applicable) or type the password again.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
