SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, when the taskbar is set to Auto hide, if you move the taskbar to another location on the screen, and you turn off Auto hide, the Internet Explorer window is not resized to accommodate the taskbar's new location. As a result, part of the Internet Explorer window is covered by the taskbar.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, you can do one of the following:
  • Close and reopen Internet Explorer.

    -or-
  • Turn off Auto hide by following these steps:

    1. Click Start, and then click Settings.
    2. Click Taskbar and Start Menu Properties, and then click to clear the Auto hide check box.
