SYMPTOMS

When you use an HTML page as your desktop background, it may not appear correctly even though it may appear correctly on the Background tab of the Display Properties window.

CAUSE

The HTML page that you are using as your background may contain frames.

RESOLUTION

To use an HTML page as your background, do not use one that has frames, or, redesign your current page and eliminate the frames.

MORE INFORMATION

To use HTML documents as desktop backgrounds, you must install the Windows Desktop Update and enable the Show Web content on my Active Desktop option.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
