Cannot Open Temporary Internet File Dragged into Internet Explorer 5.5 in Windows NT 4.0 SP6 (257044)

SYMPTOMS

When you have the Internet Options dialog box displayed in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and you drag a file from the Temporary Internet Files window into that same instance of Internet Explorer, the file may not open. This can occur on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, double-click the file in the Temporary Internet Files window to open it.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
