SUMMARY

Many network adapters support 802.1p media access control-layer network traffic prioritization. 802.1p is not enabled by default on network adapters that support it.

Enabling 802.1p on a Supported Network Adapter

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up Connections.
  2. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.
  3. Click Configure, and then click the Advanced tab.
  4. If 802.1p is supported for this network adapter, it is listed in the Property box. Click 802.1p Support, and then click Enable in the Value box.
  5. Click OK, and then click OK.
