The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 SP1
This article was previously published under Q256291 SYMPTOMS
When you advertise a mandatory advertisement that requires a user to be logged on to a Windows NT-based client computer with no user logged on,
the advertisement may not run when a user logs on to the client computer.
CAUSE
Advertisement Program Manager (APM) checks to see if a user is logged on to the client computer and returns a time-out value of 0 if no user is logged on. This eventually causes the advertisement to time out. Therefore, the mandatory advertisement does not run when a user logs on after this time-out period.
