PUB2000: Existing Text Vanishes or Becomes Distorted When You Change the Font (256190)

SYMPTOMS

When you type text in Microsoft Publisher 2000, select the text, and then change the font of the existing text, the text may vanish or be displayed as boxes or lines.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you typed the text in a symbol font.

RESOLUTION

If you must change text typed in a symbol font to a non-symbol font, you need to retype the affected text.

NOTE: This behavior does not occur if you type text in a non-symbol font, change the font to a symbol font, and then change the font back to a non-symbol font.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Publisher 2000.
