When you export contacts from Outlook Express for Macintosh, any groups you created are not exported along with your individual contacts.
WORKAROUND- Export your address book to a text file.
- Open the address book in Outlook Express. Drag the group out of the address book to the desktop. This creates a clipping file on the desktop.
- Open the exported contacts file and select the header information (it starts with the words "first name" and ends at the word "notes"). Paste this at the very beginning of a blank text document. Make sure to save the document as a text file.
- Open the clipping file, copy the contents, and paste them in the blank word processing document after the text you pasted in in step 3.
Modify the text document so that the information for the contacts lines up as follows:
First Name <1 tab> Last Name <60 tabs> Email Address
Each contact must be formatted in the same manner.
- Import the individual members of the group into the address book on another computer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
