OL98: How to Configure a cc:Mail Account (255721)

To configure an Outlook profile to connect to a cc:Mail account:

1. Install the 32-bit version of Vendor Independent Messaging (VIM). Download the Vdlw32.zip file from the following Lotus Development Corporation Web site:

   http://www-306.ibm.com/software/lotus/

2. After you download the Vdlw32.zip file, place the extracted files in one of the following locations:
   • Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98:

     C:\Windows\System

   • Microsoft Windows NT:

     C:\Winnt\System32

3. Install the cc:Mail information service (the Ccmailsp.exe program) from the Outlook installation CD-ROM. The program is in the following location

   drive letter\Valupack\Ccmail

   where drive letter refers to the CD-ROM drive. If the CD-ROM is unavailable, download the cc:Mail information service from the Microsoft Office Update page:

   http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/9798/ccmailsp.aspx

4. Map a drive to the cc:Mail server. If you do not know the path to the cc:Mail server, ask your network administrator.
5. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
6. Double-click Mail or Mail and Fax, as applicable.
7. Click Show Profiles, and then click Add. The Outlook Setup Wizard starts.
8. Click to select the MS Outlook Support for Lotus cc:Mail check box, and then click Next.
9. Type a name for the cc:Mail profile, and then click Next.
10. Type the drive letter that you used to map to the cc:Mail server, and then click Next.
11. In the User Name box, type your name, and then click Next.
12. In the Password box, type your password, and then click Next.
13. Type the path to the personal address book file that you want to use, or type the name for a new personal address book to create one. When you are finished, click Next.
14. Type the path to the personal folder file that you want to use, or type the name for a new personal folder file to create one. When you are finished, click Next.
15. Choose whether you want to add the cc:Mail information service to the Startup group, and then click Next.
