XWEB: Name Resolution Mishandles an Outlook Personal Distribution List on the Organizer's Appointment Form (255382)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q255382 SYMPTOMS
If you use Microsoft Outlook 2000 to create (organize) a meeting for which the Required Attendees field is filled with a personal distribution list (DL), and a user who is using Netscape Navigator to access Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) opens the meeting in OWA and clicks the unresolved personal DL alias, the OWA Automatic Name Resolution feature does not resolve the personal DL correctly.
If the user clicks the unresolved alias, an Edit Recipients form opens, but the Name and E-mail fields are pre-populated with the organizer's information. Furthermore, if the user clicks Cancel to close the dialog box, the name of the organizer is removed from the appointment form.
WORKAROUND
This behavior does not occur if you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 to open the meeting in OWA.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
