Search File Exclusion Rules Do Not Apply to Custom Protocol Handlers (255293)

When you create a custom protocol handler for Microsoft Site Server Search, you cannot use the FileTypes tab in the Catalog properties to specify the file extensions to index.
CAUSE
The file exclusion rules are only applied to HTTP and file crawls.
