SYMPTOMS

When you try to save a Visio drawing as an HTML file, you may receive the following error message:
Internet add-on services error #3, an unknown error occurred

RESOLUTION

You may receive this error message if you have installed Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, or another application that installs Vbrun60.exe. This executable file, which expands to several system files, replaces the Oleaut32.dll file with a version of the file that is incompatible with the Visio Save As HTML command.

Microsoft has released a service pack for Visual Studio 6.0 that addresses this issue. To resolve the error described in the "Symptoms" section and save Visio drawings as HTML files successfully, visit the "Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 3" page at the following Microsoft Developer Network Web address and download and install the latest service pack.
