In the Save As common dialog box, Windows 2000 defaults to use the latest folder where you saved a file.

There is currently no way to disable this feature in Windows 2000.
Some programs, such as Microsoft Office, allow you to specify a folder for saving files. This setting is not affected by the Save As common dialog box feature.
