SYMPTOMS
When you digitally sign an outgoing e-mail message with a digital ID, you may receive the following error message:
The message cannot be secured using the selected Security Setting. Your e-mail address may not match the e-mail address on the certificate, or some other problem exists with the certificate.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you have Outlook configured to use two or more Internet e-mail accounts.
RESOLUTION
You must send the message using the e-mail address associated with the security certificate. To change the sending e-mail address, follow these steps:
- Open the message you are trying to send.
- On the View menu, click From Field.
- Type the e-mail address used to obtain the security certificate on the From line.
MORE INFORMATION
Outlook (CW) does not use the Send Message Using command available in both Outlook Internet Mail Only (IMO) and Microsoft Outlook Express. You must type the e-mail address that is used by the digital ID in the From field.
