After you begin a Visio Technical 5.0 Plus installation, you may receive the following incomplete error message:
The Visio Technical 5.0 Plus Upgrade setup program did not detect Visio 1.x, 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, Visio Professional 4.x, Visio Technical 3.x, 4.x or Visio Express. The product you have purchased is sold as an upgrade to these products. If you already own one

RESOLUTION

If you own a version of Visio listed in the message, you can continue the installation. To continue, enter the first six digits of your Visio program's serial number in the box near the bottom of the message window.
