Streets and Trips 2001: "Error 1316" Message When You Attempt to Reinstall the Program (254435)

When you attempt to reinstall Microsoft Streets & Trips 2001, you may receive the following error message
Error 1316: An error occurred while attempting to read from the file drive:\data.msi. If reinstalling, exit setup and insert the Setup disc before running reinstall.
where drive is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you attempt to reinstall the program when the Streets & Trips 2001 Disc 2 CD-ROM is inserted in the CD-ROM drive.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
- Quit Streets & Trips 2001 Setup.
- Eject the CD-ROMs from all of your CD-ROM drives.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Streets & Trips 2001, and then click Add/Remove.
- Click Remove.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the program.
- When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.
- Insert the Streets & Trips 2001 Disc 1 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install the program.
