Visio: The Installation Program for Visio Network Equipment Version 99.3 May Not Accept the Serial Number Provided on the Registration Card (254378)

SYMPTOMS

The installation program for Visio Network Equipment (VNE) version 99.3 may not accept the serial number provided on the registration card. When you try to use the 12-digit serial number provided, the installation program prompts you for a 17-18 digit number.

NOTE: If you already have Visio 2000 Enterprise Edition or an earlier version of VNE installed, the installation program should not prompt you for a serial number; therefore, you should not encounter this issue.

RESOLUTION

A small number of registration cards were manufactured with an incorrect serial number. The incorrect serial number has 6 digits followed by a hyphen and 6 more digits.

To resolve this issue, use the table below to generate the correct serial number:
