OL98: The AutoSignature Option Is Dimmed (254336)

SUMMARY

When you try to create an AutoSignature in Outlook, the Signature Picker button is dimmed and you are not able to create an AutoSignature when you compose e-mail messages.

To use Signature Picker, you cannot use Microsoft Word to edit your e-mail messages. To clear Word as your e-mail editor:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the Mail Format tab.
  3. Under Send in this message format, you must choose another format from the list, such as:

    Plain Text
    HTML
    Microsoft Rich Text

You can now create an AutoSignature.
