  1. MS-DOS Window Support for CS Languages:

    There is no MS-DOS support for Arabic, Hebrew, or pure Unicode languages (Indian family, Armenian, and Georgian). You cannot edit these scripts in an MS-DOS window. This issue will not be addressed in future service packs for Windows 2000.
  2. Non-Unicode programs:

    If you have Arabic and/or Hebrew language support installed and you install a non-Unicode localized program, you need to set your system locale to the language of the program. Otherwise, menus and dialog boxes in the program are displayed with high American National Standards Institute (ANSI) characters.
  3. Pure Unicode Language:

    Support for new scripts such as Indian languages (Tamil and Devanagari scripts), Armenian, and Georgian is done through a pure mechanism (no ANSI/OEM code pages). This results in some unsupported features (MS-DOS Window, Backup, Defrag) if the handling of these scripts is required. Computer name and Domain Name System (DNS) domain name are also affected.
