The following limitations exist in the Windows 2000 Server Routing and Remote Access Service.

Adding or Dropping Telephone Lines:

Adding or dropping telephone lines may not succeed with standard-modem drivers. These drivers do not report correct send and receive status information, causing the Bandwidth Allocation Protocol code to use false throughput values from a generic driver. This can result in telephone charges for unexpected dial-up connections.

Line Is Not Retried When Busy:

When the Dial As Needed setting is selected and both the first telephone or Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) line in a bundle and the alternate number for the line (if any) are busy, there is no attempt to obtain additional lines.

Multilink Across Multiple Servers Is Not Supported:

Multilink must occur on a single server. Spanning multiple Windows 2000-based Routing and Remote Access servers is not allowed.
