The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q254238 SYMPTOMS
When you add an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a network interface, and that interface is currently active as an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) interface, the Routing and Remote Access service may show an incorrect interface status or the interface may not work.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
- In Routing and Remote Access, remove the interface from
OSPF.
- Add IP addresses to, or remove them from, the interface.
- In Routing and Remote Access, again add the interface to OSPF, and
then enable or disable OSPF on the IP addresses you added or
removed.
