This article was previously published under Q253441 SYMPTOMS
When you view the contents of an emergency repair diskette created with Windows 2000, the set of files may appear to be incomplete, and the files on the disk are:
- Autoexec.nt
- Config.nt
- Setup.log
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the 1.44 megabyte (MB) floppy disk does not have the capacity to store all of the files necessary to complete an emergency repair.

STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
The %SystemRoot%\Repair folder on the computer contains the files needed to perform a repair. By default, the %SystemRoot% folder is normally WINNT. To manually back up the repair information, copy the %SystemRoot%\Repair folder to another location, or use the Windows 2000 backup program (which can automate this process).
