WD2000: Form Fields Not Visible When Table Is Pasted as Word Document Object (252440)

When you copy all or part of a Word table that contains form fields and paste the table into a new Word document as a Word Document object, some of the form fields and text may not be visible.
NOTE: This problem also occurs when you paste the table as a picture.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To temporarily work around this problem, use one of the following methods appropriate for your situation:
Method 1: Paste as a Word Table
Use this method to paste the Word table that contains form fields as a Word table in your new document:
- In the original document, select the table with the form fields. To do this, move the insertion point into one of the table cells. On the Table menu, point to Select and click Table.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- In your new Word document, click Paste Cells on the Edit menu.
Method 2: Convert the Table to Text and Paste as an Object or Picture
Use this method to "temporarily" convert your Word table to text before you paste it as a Word Document object or picture:
- In the original document, select the table with the form fields. To do this, move the insertion point into one of the table cells. On the Table menu, point to Select and click Table.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- In your new Word document, click Paste Cells on the Edit menu.
- With the table selected, point to Convert on the Table menu, and click Table to text.
- In the Convert Table to Text dialog box, click Tabs and then click OK. The table is converted to text separated by tabs.
- With the text and form fields selected, click Cut on the Edit menu.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
- In the Paste Special dialog box, click Microsoft Word Document Object or Picture and click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
