Your Computer May Hang While Resuming From Standby Mode with a Removable Device in the Docking Station (252187)

While your computer resumes from Standby mode, your computer may stop responding (hang) if a removable device is installed, such as an LS-120 floppy disk drive used with an IBM docking station.
CAUSE
This problem can occur when the controller for the removable device does not complete the last request before your computer enters Standby mode, and access to the controller is not in the correct state when your computer returns from Standby mode.
RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
