XFOR: Add/Remove Programs Does Not Remove the Chat Service Completely (251879)

SYMPTOMS

If you use the Add/Remove Programs tool or the Exchange 2000 CD-ROM to remove the Chat service for Exchange 2000, the service is not completely removed. The Chatcfg.dll file and the Chatsnap.dll file remain in the Exchsrvr\Bin directory.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, you must manually remove the files from the Exchsrvr\Bin directory. You can either delete or rename the files.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
