XWEB: Script Error When Creating New Appointment Using Navigator 3.x or Internet Explorer 3.x (251810)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) with a third-generation browser, such as Netscape Navigator 3.x or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x to create a new appointment, the following script error occurs when you open the New Appointment dialog box.

If you are using Internet Explorer 3.x:
Microsoft JScript runtime error
In frame: viewer
[Line: 250] 'undefined' is not an object
If you are using Navigator 3.x:
JavaScript Error:
http://server/exchange/username/Calendar/?Cmd=new, line 129:
Date.setFullYear is not a function.

CAUSE

The Exchange Server 2000 OWA supports only fourth-generation browsers or later, such as Netscape Navigator 4.x, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5.

WORKAROUND

To use OWA with all of the advanced features, install Internet Explorer 5 or later. To download Internet Explorer 5 or later, go to the following Microsoft Web site:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
