XFOR: Microsoft Mail Connector Properties Not Accessible in Cluster Environment (251768)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to administer the Exchange 2000 Server Microsoft Mail Connector as a cluster resource, you may receive the following error message:
The home postoffice in the directory could not be accessed...

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Microsoft Mail postoffice is unavailable.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure that the Microsoft Mail postoffice is available before you try to gain access to the Microsoft Mail Connector properties.

If the Microsoft Mail postoffice is on another computer, make sure that the share that the postoffice resides on is accessible over the network.

Also check to make sure that the Microsoft Mail Connector points to a valid, working postoffice.
