WD98: Error Message: Cannot Load Extended MAPI Library MAPIX (251744)

RESOLUTION

To locate and move the Address Book Library file into the correct location, follow these steps:

1. Quit all open programs.
2. On the File menu, click Find.
3. Type Address Book Library in the box.
4. Click Find, or press RETURN to start the search.
5. Drag the Address Book Library from the Find file window, and drop it in the Office folder in the Microsoft Office 98 folder.
6. Start Word 98, and try to access the Address Book.

If the Address Book Library file no longer exists on the system, you can copy it from the Office folder on the Office 98 CD-ROM into the Office folder on your hard disk. To install the Address Book Library file from the Microsoft Office 98 CD, follow these steps:

1. Quit all open programs and windows.
2. Insert the Office 98 CD into your CD-ROM drive.
3. Open the Office folder in the Microsoft Office 98 folder on the Office 98 CD.
4. Drag the Address Book Library to the Desktop to make a copy of it.
5. Close all windows and eject the CD.
6. Drag the Address Book Library file into the Office folder in the Microsoft Office 98 folder.
7. Start Word 98, and try to access the Address Book.
