Iomega Tools Do Not Display Parallel Port Drives in Windows 2000 (251381)

When you use an Iomega parallel port disk drive (Zip, Jazz, etc.) on a computer running Windows 2000, the disk drive is not displayed in Iomega's disk tools.
NOTE: The disk drive is displayed in Windows Explorer and Disk Administrator.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Windows 2000 does not support SCSI commands on a parallel port device. This command set is used by Iomega's tools to access and administrate their removable disk drives.

The Windows 2000 Update, "Iomega Tools do not Recognize Parallel Port Drives", is available on the Windows Update site. You can also download this recommended update (for installation later or on a different computer) from the following Microsoft Web site:

STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
