User and Group Icons Disappear While Adding a Group Using BackOffice Server Manager (251101)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the BackOffice Server Manager wizard to add a group, the icons and user names may turn black or disappear while you are scrolling through the list.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you use the arrows on the scroll bar box to scroll throught the list.

NOTE: The wizards included with BackOffice Server 4.5 were developed for use with Windows NT Server 4.0, and do not always function properly in Windows 2000 due to differences in design.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, either click in the scroll bar or click and hold the scroll bar box to move the list up and down. NOTE: This prevents the icons from turning black, but the users may still disappear.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in BackOffice Server 4.5.
