This article was previously published under Q251017 SYMPTOMS
If you use a user profile stored on a share that is enabled for Services for Macintosh, you may receive error messages when you log on:
Windows cannot copy file \\server\share\username\Recent1 to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Recent1. Contact your network administrator.
Windows cannot load the profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. CAUSE
This issue can occur when the profile is synchronizing. A named stream is copied over from the roaming profile source as well as its read-only attribute. Because of the read-only attribute, the attempt to delete the stream as part of profile synchronization does not work.
