PUB2000 Error Message: Publisher Cannot Find the Printer HP LaserJet 4050 (250854)

When you start Microsoft Publisher 2000, you may receive the following
error message:
Please choose another printer. Publisher cannot find the printer HP
LaserJet 4050.
If you then attempt to print from Publisher 2000, you experience one of
the following symptoms:
- The HP LaserJet 4050 printer is not available on the Printer
menu.
- When you click HP LaserJet 4050 on the Printer
menu, you receive the same error message mentioned earlier in
this article.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you use version 4.3.0.9 of the HP Installer
to install the driver for the HP LaserJet 4050 printer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.
Method 1
Use the installer provided with the printer to install the PostScript
version of the driver for the HP LaserJet 4050 printer.
Method 2
Download the latest version of the printer driver for the HP LaserJet
4050 printer from the following Hewlett-Packard Web site
and then use the Add Printer wizard in Microsoft Windows to install
the updated printer driver.
