When you suspend your Windows 98 Second Edition-based computer (or place it in Standby mode) while playing any type of media file, you may experience any of the following symptoms when you try to resume your computer:
- Your computer may stop responding (hang).
- Your computer may no longer play audio properly.
- The screen may remain completely black, or may have a blinking cursor in the upper left-side corner of the screen.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur due to issues with DirectX.
RESOLUTION
