Java Cabinet Files Do Not Install to Output Directory When You Unselect All Media Components in IEAK Wizard (250760)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Unselect All for components on the media selection page in the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) Wizard, the Java cabinet (.cab) files are deleted from the destination folder.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur for the following reasons:

  • The Common Internet File System structure contains more than one reference point for the same files, such as Java, NetMeeting, and HtmlHelp.
  • The Msjava.dll file is not written to the root file system.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, upgrade to IEAK 5.5.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Internet Explorer Administration Kit 5.01.
