OLEXP: You Cannot Create a New Business Card on the Compose Tab in the Options Dialog Box (250707)

SYMPTOMS

In Outlook Express, there is no apparent way to create a new business card entry in the Business Cards section of the Options dialog box.

CAUSE

The Business Cards section of the Options dialog box does not have a New option as it does in versions of Outlook Express earlier than Outlook Express 5.

RESOLUTION

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, create the new business card entry as a contact in your Address Book, and then click the Compose tab in the Options dialog box. Then, click the new contact under Business Cards in the Mail list, or under Include my business card when creating new messages in the News list.

To create a new contact in your Address Book:
  1. Start Outlook Express.
  2. Click the Address button, and then click New Contact on the File menu.
  3. In the Properties dialog box, type the information that you want, and then click OK.
