SUMMARY

Any customer who purchases BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) 4.5 after January 1, 2000, qualifies for the Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 technology guarantee, which is a no-cost upgrade to Microsoft Small Business Server 2000, when available.

The Small Business Server technology guarantee extends to customers who make an initial Small Business Server 4.5 server license purchase after January 1, 2000, including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) server license purchases. Small Business Server 4.5 Client Add Packs will also be upgraded at no cost.

Customers who have upgraded from Small Business Server 4.0 to Small Business Server 4.5 do not qualify for the technology guarantee offer because of the low cost of that upgrade.

NOTE: You cannot upgrade a Small Business Server 4.5 server to Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. However, you can add a Windows 2000-based server as a member server to a Small Business Server 4.5 domain.
