Picture It! Error Message: Invalid Page Fault in Module Shstgea.dll (250283)

If you attempt to move, delete, copy, or paste a picture from the My
Pictures folder, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If you click Details, you receive the following error message:
Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Shstgea.dll.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Media Manager index is damaged.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method for your version of
Microsoft Picture It!
Microsoft Picture It! 99 and Earlier
To resolve this issue, convert the My Pictures folder from a Media Manager
folder to a Windows folder, and then back to a Media Manager folder:
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then
click Windows Explorer.
- In Windows Explorer, right-click the My Pictures
folder, and then click Convert to Windows
folder.
- Click Yes to continue.
- In Windows Explorer, right-click the My Pictures
folder, and then click Convert to a Media
Manager folder.
- Click Yes to continue.
You should receive a message stating that the conversion was completed
successfully. If you receive this message, you can move, delete, copy, or
paste pictures from the My Pictures folder.
Microsoft Picture It! 2000
To resolve this issue, remove Media Manager:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then
click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Media
Manager 1.5.
- Click Add/Remove.
- When Media Manager Setup starts, click Remove All.
- Click Remove All Custom Annotations.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the removal
of Media Manager.
NOTE: Media Manager is not required to run Picture It! 2000.
