'Code 7' Error Message Is Displayed in Device Manager on Computer Using an R2 PC Card (250232)

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Dell Latitude CPi Notebook portable computer with an R2 (16-bit) PC Card, "Code 7" may be displayed in Device Manager, next to the PC Card device.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when you are not using the latest version of the basic input/output system (BIOS).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, contact Dell to obtain the latest version of the BIOS.
