The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition

This article was previously published under Q250072

SUMMARY

Windows Millennium Edition (Me) supports installation on Legacy Free (LF) computers. LF computers require different drivers and different boot files to boot properly. Because of this, Windows Me must detect whether a computer is an LF computer by querying the computer's BIOS.

Windows Me Setup includes a command-line switch (setup /nl) that you can use if Setup does not detect LF status correctly.
