PUB2000: Templates Button Does Not Appear in Catalog Window (249692)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Publisher 2000, the Templates button may not appear in the Microsoft Publisher Catalog window.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if no templates are located in the Templates folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, add a template to the Templates folder:

  1. Start Publisher 2000.
  2. Click the Blank Publications tab, click a blank publication, and then click Create.
  3. On the File menu, click Save As.
  4. In the Save as type box, click Publisher Template.
  5. In the File name box, type a name for the template.
  6. Click Save.

    NOTE: The default path to the Templates folder is

    drive:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

    where drive is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed.
  7. On the File menu, click New. The Templates button should appear in the Microsoft Publisher Catalog window.
