Copy Protection Error Playing DVD in Toshiba Laptop (249044)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to play a DVD in your laptop computer, you may receive a copy protection warning that states the DVD is not going to play.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you have an older BIOS on your laptop that is preventing the DVD from playing. This issue has been reported on the following laptop computers:
  • Toshiba Tecra 750 and 780
  • Toshiba Portege 7020

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, update the BIOS on your laptop to the latest version. Visit Toshiba's Web site or contact their technical support group for more information.
