Invalid Page Fault in Ism.dll When Printing to HP DeskJet Printer (248786)

When you attempt to print to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet printer, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation, and will be shut down.
If you click Details, one of the following messages may be displayed:
Spool32 caused an invalid page fault in module ISM.DLL
Spool32 caused a GPF in ISM.DLL
CAUSE
The error message occurs when a portion of the printer driver code that is not needed for printing is accessed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the Image Server folder:
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Explore to start Windows Explorer.
- Open the C:\Program Files folder.
- Click the Image Server folder, and then click Rename on the File menu.
- Rename the folder to Image, press ENTER, and then quit Windows Explorer.
- Restart the computer.
