OFF2000: E-mail Button Doesn't Appear on the Standard Toolbar (248735)

SYMPTOMS

In the Office programs listed at the beginning of this article, the E-mail button may be missing from the Standard toolbar although it was available previously.

CAUSE

This happens if your default e-mail program is changed to an e-mail client that cannot automatically send the current document as the body of an e-mail message.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, choose a different default e-mail program, using the following steps:
  1. Open Internet Explorer 5.
  2. Click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
  3. On the Programs tab, click the arrow next to E-mail.
  4. Select a different e-mail program.
