PRB: Error message: Unable to retrieve folder information from the server (248063)

SYMPTOMS

When opening, refreshing, or synchronizing a Visual InterDev project, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to retrieve folder information from the server.
The server "" timed out.
The current request did not complete successfully.

In addition, the Event Viewer log on the master Web server will contain:
source front page 3.0
Event ID: 1000
Microsoft FrontPage server extensions: unexpected C++ exception: [INDEX] Index(0) out of range [0->4294967295]

CAUSE

This can happen when the FrontPage Server Extensions parse the source code on a Web page (ASP or HTM) and encounter a <META> tag that has unbalanced quotation marks or other invalid syntax, such as:
   <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300;url="monitor.html"">
				

RESOLUTION

To resolve the problem, correct the <META> tag syntax.

Valid syntax for this example would be:
   <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300;url=monitor.html">
