Money 2000 CDN: User Interface Icons From the Previous Version Remain After Upgrade (247617)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade to the Canadian version of Microsoft Money 2000, the user interface icons from the previous version may remain.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:
  1. Double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
  2. On the View menu, click Options or Folder Options.
  3. Click the File Types tab.
  4. In the Registered file types box, click Microsoft Money File.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Click Change Icon.
  7. In the Current icon box, click the Money 2000 icon, and then click OK.
  8. In the Edit File Type dialog box, click OK or Close.
  9. Click OK or Close again.
  10. Close the My Computer window.
To change the icons for the Money 2000 backup files, repeat the preceding steps, but click Microsoft Money Backup File in the Registered file types box in step 4.

MORE INFORMATION

When you use the method described in the "Resolution" section of this article to change the icons for Money files, you do not break the file associations. Money 2000 functions correctly whether or not you change the icons.
