- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q247157 SYMPTOMS
When you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to log on to a computer running, there may be no option for logging on by using a Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) connection, even though a PPTP connection is configured on the computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you select the Only For Myself option when you create the PPTP connection. The PPTP connection is then stored in your user profile, not in the default user profile that the computer uses to log on.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, select the For All Users option in the PPTP connection. This puts the PPTP connection in the default user profile and makes the Log on using dial-up connection option available.
