SYMPTOMS
An access violation (AV) is caused when an
ALTER TABLE statement is run to add a CHECK constraint and if the constraint definition contains the
ESCAPE keyword. An error message similar to the following appears.
ODBC: Msg 0, Level 19, State 1
SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 7 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process.
Connection Broken
Avoid using the
ESCAPE keyword when defining CHECK constraints.
STATUS
