When you configure Windows NT 4.0 Server for Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), the server may not select the optimum path to a network resource.
RESOLUTIONA supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, disable OSPF and add known static routes.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0.
